Are football club fan tokens risky?
Football clubs have introduced fan tokens based on cryptocurrency but they have no financial value and they are not regulated.
The tokens are a way for supporters to get more actively involved in club decisions like music played during halftime or to vote on uniforms.
But government financial regulators fear fans could get swept up in the experience and even exploited without a regulator to monitor the buying, selling and trading of the tokens.
